Breakthrough: According to the latest PINKTUM survey, 91% of HR decision-makers rely on or are interested in short digital learning segments.

  • Digital soft skills developer PINKTUM launches short, flexibly retrievable learning videos

  • With video-based repetition of learning content, employees measurably increase their learning success.

  • PINKTUM is expanding its library of 600 approximately one-hour e-trainings to include 2-4-minute learning videos and creating an integrated learning journey.

Learning in a professional environment means adapting to changing information practices at a rapid pace. According to a recent PINKTUM survey, digital short learning videos are already part of modern HR development for the majority (91%) of HR decision-makers. PINKTUM surveyed 456 HR managers at Learntec in May 2023. 71% said they already integrate micro-learning into their HR development. Another 20% were interested in including condensed learning formats in the future. Joachim Pawlik, CEO of PINKTUM and responsible for the Product division, is certain: "Micro-learning will become a new standard in personnel development."

David Scheffer, a psychology professor providing scientific support for PINKTUM's product development, explains: "Digitization means that we have to develop ever faster. At the same time, we have less and less time to learn new things and consolidate our knowledge. We can only resolve this dilemma if we are able to retrieve learning content when we need it. A few minutes of focused repetition can reactivate knowledge that we have learned in extensive e-trainings or coaching sessions lasting several hours, that were seemingly forgotten."

PINKTUM is now launching new microlearnings that last only two to four minutes. The first 38 short videos were shot and completed in the company's Hamburg studio. The "Know-How" category helps quickly refresh knowledge that has already been imparted and answers specific questions. "Challenge" microlearnings show employees how to solve specific challenges in practice.

"We have been working with micros for a long time. What's new about the current launch - and what's essential for learning success - is that the content of the micros is now linked to basic training courses and integrated into a multi-stage learning process," said Joachim Pawlik, CEO of PINKTUM.

Micro and Macro Learning for a Coordinated Learning Journey

Micros and longer basic training courses, known as macros, now come from a single source. In the macrolearnings, employees are comprehensively introduced to a topic with several videos, transfer tasks and further information. They take between 45 and 60 minutes to complete. PINKTUM builds the short microlearnings on its macros utilizing the same content and methodology. Wordings, ambience and key statements are coordinated with each other. "This is the only way to quickly unlock what has already been learned," says Pawlik.
