72 percent of companies consider the use of artificial intelligence to be the most important trend in continuing education

A recent survey by PINKTUM and E-Learning-Journal on learning of the future confirms the advance of AI in HR development. At the same time, skills development is becoming increasingly relevant for the majority of companies in the face of growing challenges, so AI is helping to meet the additional demand.

According to a recent survey of 536 companies in the DACH region by digital HR developer PINKTUM with the trade magazine eLearning Journal, almost three quarters (72%) consider the use of AI will be the most important trend in HR development over the next three to five years. Individualization of learning follows in second place (67%).

Alois Krtil, CTO PINKTUM "AI tools and individualized learning help employees to develop more purposefully and quickly. The majority of decision-makers recognize that the growing demands on continuing education can hardly be met long term without the new methods. Not only the learners benefit, but also the personnel developers are supported in their work."

Support is especially important as the need for continuing education increases. More than half of HR and training managers (52%) believe they need to further develop employee competencies. AI should primarily relieve HR development of routine activities (67%). 54% percent of respondents say they want to save costs through artificial intelligence. Accordingly, AI is associated with the expectation of cushioning the increasing effort in further training.

Frank Siepmann, Editor E-Learning Journal: "The application of AI in HR development is increasingly seen as an indispensable tool in the "war for talent" and to increase efficiency. AI tools are increasingly a game-changer for corporate education. They enable companies to provide employees with learning opportunities that are tailored to their needs. This is more than efficiency; it's a strategic response to the skills shortage and represents a paradigm shift in workforce development."

Currently, about one in six companies (17%) uses artificial intelligence in training. Translations, content creation and the use of chatbots to answer frequently asked questions are currently the focus here. Another 21 percent plan to deploy AI tools in the next 12 to 24 months.
